Bicycles
Cycle King
This is a bicycle superstore at the start of the Dunstable Road. Its a great place to buy a cheap and cheerful bicycle at a third of the price as any "Specialist Store".
|
This is not the place for a professional cyclist but a great place to get into cycling at a noncommittal price. They have all these excuses for so called sales, i.e. "Famous January" sale, or "Dents and Scratches sale" Basically the bikes are built in a warehouse in Essex from imported parts and shipped to various "Cycle Kings" and "Hawk Cycles" shops throughout the country. The bikes are made by a company called the (PCM Group) Which stands for Professional Cycle Marketing which seems to suggest where their expertise lies. However I have a Cycle King bike and so far so good! |
Cycle King Website
PCM Group Website (vastly improved site)

Tailors
Luton based tailors Sousters once clothed some famous actors and football players but after the book Crap Towns II was published they wasted no time in uprooting and now advertise themselves as "Souster & Hicks of Savile Row" after 25 years in Luton! So if you need a good suit you now need to go to London, but even there - tailors are becoming an endangered species.
