Jennys Resturant
Part of the Jennys chain in Chapel Street this cafe offers a good value alternative. (01582-450037)

One good thing about Jennys is that you don't get all those little sachets of salt, pepper, sauce or disposable cutlery with your food, that means less waste and must be better on the environment! |

The Griffin - located in the George Street Arndale entrance.

BBs
BB's is a coffee shop / light snack bar located just inside the middle George street entrance to the Arndale. Its a good place to have a light lunch baguette and a cup of Latte. They also specialise in ice cream from New Zealand.

Tims Kitchen
Located in the Arndale Mall area it is a traditional English cafe. There is also a Tims Kitchen in the market hall.

A South African restaurant that specialises in Peri-Peri (A very spicy chilli from southern Africa sometimes called Piri-Piri) chicken. It's Portuguese theme is inspired from colonials in Africa. The restaurant is spacious and decorated in warn terra-cotta. It has a pub style self order system which means no waiting about to be served! |
Pizza Hut
Pizza Hut is located in Park street. It is part of the multi-national chain of Pizza restaurants who regularly advertise on TV. This chain has just recently adopted a nation wide no-smoking ban.

From my experience there: they only have half the items on the menu and you have to wait, and wait and wait. It appears that they are busier serving take-away customers than those that eat at the restaurant |
Pizza Express

This is a more up-market Pizza restaurant chain. The decoration is elegant with a stunning ceiling dome in stained glass. The restaurant is spacious and service is prompt and efficient. There are smoking and non-smoking areas, and an area where you can have a drink while you wait for your friends to arrive. |

Fast Food Chains
The Subway
This is a sandwich bar which specialise in American baps called "Subs" (because they resemble submarines apparently). In the USA Subway are even bigger than Mcdonalds so expect to see more of these across the country.

Subway has just undergone a renovation and menu change! It is a good (and I am sure healthier) alternative to the usual fast food available in the town. |
Mcdonalds
Well of course there's always at least one in every town or city. Luton's is just across the way from the Subway and is open until 12.

Burger King
Located near the Arndale's library facing entrance this is your standard Burger King. However unlike Mcdonalds it is only open during normal Arndale hours.
Wimpy
There is a Wimpy in the Galaxy Center inside the ten pin bowling and archade area.
Kentucky Fried Chicken
There is a Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet on the Dunstable road in Bury Park. There are also numerous generic fried chicken outlets about town that serve a similar thing.

Late Night Venues
Sammy's
There is a restaurant in Wellington Street called Sammy's, this is the place to go after a night clubbing! Their speciality: Kebabs and Coffee.

Mobile food stores
In George's street there are regular mobile food carts. One located near the town hall serves Caribbean food (i.e. Jerk Chicken and patties). Just outside the middle entrance to the Arnadle you can get burgers and jumbo sausages, or from the mobile tram: donuts, coffee and sweet things.
